On the Road

With summer quickly waning, we have taken a number of one-day road trips into the prairies and mountains of Colorado gathering images. I’ve already painted some of these scenes in the studio. As I write this, there is early snow on the foothills outside my window. Soon, we will be making our fall trips into the mountains to photograph the aspens. And then we’ll venture into the river valleys of southern Colorado to photograph the golden cottonwoods. The vibrant green of summer gives way to the golden hues of autumn leaves and harvested fields. The sweet scent of piñon smoke and the aroma of roasting chilies pierce the senses. Life becomes fleeting and precious before the winter cold.

Journal

Read the adventures (and non-adventures) of an artist. What’s the story behind the paintings? Every event is shockingly true. Read the Journal if you dare. Latest entry: “Rim to Rim.” New
