Michael Baum Art: News and Announcements
Morning on the River I
got this image last April returning from a backpacking trip in southeast
Utah. This is the Colorado River canyon just above Moab. Here’s my journal
entry from that morning: We will be sleeping in our own beds
tonight, but we're not giving up yet. The rising sun sets the cliffs afire as
we wind up the canyon road along the Colorado River. The river is painted in
brilliant reflections. Morning
on the River is currently available for sale at
the studio. To

month, we’re getting ready for our “adventure season,” planning road trips,
backpacking and exploration. I’m also
thinking about where I’m going with my painting. There’s more about that in
the newest journal entry (see below).

paintings? Every event is shockingly true. Read the

Studio… I’m
just wrapping up “Morning on the River” (photo above), a large painting that
I’ve been working on for weeks. It seems like I’ve spent a lifetime exploring
those soaring cliffs in the bright morning sun. I’ve
also been working on a few small studies, candidates to become large
paintings. It feels great to breeze through a painting in a few hours after
working so long on the big one.
